Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. If you are seeking counselling services for yourself or for someone else, I hope I may be of assistance.
I hold a Master and Bachelor degree of Social Work from Memorial University in my home province of Newfoundland. However, I have been residing in Kingston, Ontario for many years and I am proud to call this beautiful city my family's home.
I am a registered social worker and clinical counsellor who has been providing services to adults, families, and children since 2007. I love working with people, hearing their stories, and talking over coffee and tea. I believe we are all the experts in our own lives and I offer a collaborative approach to therapy. I provide timely, confidential, and cognitive therapeutic services to individuals, couples, or families experiencing:
- Inter-personal conflict (family, couples, parent/child)
- Depression
- Anxiety & intrusive thoughts
- Poor body image & disordered eating
- P.T.S.D.
As a counsellor, my approach is a combination of talk (narrative) therapy & cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapy. The model I use involves setting goals and working on them together. I work with my clients to understand their struggles by understanding their thoughts, feelings, physical reactions, and behaviors and how they all fit together. A change in one aspect of our thoughts can have significant influence in everyday life.
